What does it mean to be beautiful?
Beauty according to the dictionary means the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, an individually pleasing or beautiful quality; grace; charm.
People often associate beauty with physical features. Most women are so engrossed in perfecting the way they look on the outside that they end up losing sense of who they are and their self worth. "Yes", the physical attracts a man but can it keep a man? "No". The way we carry ourselves determine the way people treat us especially men.
A lot of young girls have low self esteem because beauty is based more on the physical and not what is on the inside. They look at the mirror they see ugly, they look at the magazine they beautiful women with great figure and everywhere they go they see beautiful women. Mothers need to instill self worth, beautiful qualities in their daughters. I didn't grow up loving my looks because people didn't think I was pretty and it affected my perception of me. Over the years I've learned to love myself, know my self worth, and it's still a struggle but I will overcome. To every girl/ woman experiencing the same issue reading this blog , hear this from me "YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL JUST THE WAY YOU ARE". Stand in front of the mirror and say 'I am beautiful just the way I am' everyday until you start believing it, instill it in yourself.
Straight hair, big butt, nice figure, weaves, make up, only attributes to a small percentage of your beauty, knowing your self worth is what makes you beautiful. Ever wonder why people keep having plastic surgeries and they are never satisfied? they let the physical define them. You can never be satisfied with who you are and the way you look until you fix yourself from the inside.
Carry yourself in such a way that when you walk into a room full of people you command respect. Draw the right attention, be able to have an intellectual conversation with someone and leave good impression on people.
About my title, ' I strive to be Esther' and what it means to me. Esther is a woman in the bible that I greatly admire. Her selflessness which connected to the fear of God made her stand out. She had self control, faith, courage, was strong minded and the favor of God was upon her. I'm not going to say I want to be like her because my path is different from hers but she inspires me to become who I want to be.
I want to thank my mother for doing everything she has done for me, she is one strong-willed woman and I love her to death............................
